Taking a look for a luxurious space on an unbelievable equestrian property inside 30 minutes of the city? That’s what Tom Newland has at the Johnsons Rd Balhannah property he bought in 1984.
“We’d been living in South Africa for a number of years on a big petrochemical project and we came back to make a new life in Australia,” he says.

“I’d grown up inside the country and my partner cherished horses so the danger to have a rural way of living almost about the city was great.

“It was great for our family because the kids could be upstairs and each have a bedroom up there, and we could do our own thing downstairs. It’s been a great party house and we’ve done a lot of entertaining here over the years.”

The home is ready on an 8.09ha allotment and has a large equestrian facility comprising a 60m x 20m indoor using house, five stables, five workshops and five storage bays.
“It would be perfect for a family who could grow up here and love the lifestyle it offers,” Mr Newland says. “With me being the only one here now, it’s time for someone else to enjoy it.”
